As a child, I can recall summer moments spent with my Aunt Ginny. Though she was not related to my family, she was family. Aunt Ginny and Uncle Joe lived across the street from my mom’s family home – forever. When my mom was growing up she spent many hours with them and their family. Those were the days of unlocked doors and almost everyone was family or close friends. As I grew older and economic times became tougher, my family was not able to take as many trips back East as we wished. Therefore, there were fewer and fewer times we were afforded the opportunity to be with them and the rest of the family.
Aunt Ginny was well-known for having many skills ranging from baking in the kitchen to gardening and crafts. What I remember most of all was her patience and attention to details. She shared many things about life with me during our visits. People have been attributed to being able to brighten a room with a smile – well, her smile triggered something deep with you and just made you feel perfect.
On February 20th, Aunt Ginny was called for a higher purpose. After 65 years of marriage to Uncle Joe – she received another calling. I will miss her.
Aunt Ginny – say hello to Duchess and Freida.

Aunt Ginny sounds like a class act. Lucky you for having her in your life. Wow to 65 years of marriage–fantastic.
